Gravy for breakfast

We are out of normal breakfast foods, so I had to improvise.

Last tablespoon of bacon grease Stick of butter 3/4 cup of flour Salt Pepper Fennel seeds Thyme Basil

Not sure if the kids will eat it on toast, but I thought it was pretty good.

The fennel seeds came off a bit strong.

When I was a kid my favorite breakfast was sliced bread toasted in a pan greased with butter. Bacon grease would have been amazing. With a side of fruit and whatever leftover meat was available, that would make an amazing breakfast.

  Yeah I still make toast but not toasted with butter lel that was pretty unhealthy but my grandmother would make it for me when I visited.
The south would like to talk to you about our Lord and savior, biscuits and gravy.
- Well, so, we were out of sausage and I didn't feel like scratch biscuits.
  
  Two kids ate it. Third preferred to stick with bagels.
Gravy on cornflakes...
- Toast, actually.
  
  Gravy on toast is OK, any time off the day.
