I didn't really enjoy the European market thing so I think I might just go for a bus/train ride to kill the rest of the night

Yeah that's the one. It didn't seem that bad, I've definitely been to worse events, but it was more the sheer amount of people in such a tiny laneway that did it for me
I work in the building next to it. That area gets busy on work days without a function.

Kinda. Thanks for asking! Ended up walking down Lonsdale and hopping on the first bus I saw, which took me to Warrandyte. Then I got another bus from Warrandyte to Eltham, then one from Eltham to Glenroy and now I'm on a train back into the city
Not quite done yet, want to grab some dinner from somewhere and I'm split between the kfc on Bourke Street and a Chinese bar out in Burwood (I spent a couple of hours there once but had no money to buy anything and it smelt realllly good...)
