In Oregon’s Coast Range, mature forests can absorb more carbon per acre than almost any other on the planet. Yet logging here continues at a steady pace, putting the environment at risk.
For $4.2 million, the administration had just sold off the first 561 acres of Blue and Gold, an estimated 83,259 trees.
They’re selling off rights to log (miscategorized) old growth forest for an average of Fifty. Fucking. Dollars. Per. Tree. That’s damn near free.
This is just like the oil. If its legally allowed they can't deny permits for individual companies as that would be playing favorites. The areas have to be protected and not allow for plans to be made to begin with. That is what democrats do but its hard and republicans take that status away. ugh folks are stupid.
