We won WWII in part because other countries brain drain. What happens when that happens to the US?
Education is the backbone of any new frontier.
If brain drain were to recur and end up elsewhere, that elsewhere will certainly prosper.
I don't think you understand the academic job market. Most people are barely surviving as adjuncts, etc. If they could have fled to another country, they already would have.
