Sirens wailed Saturday morning in Israel, warning of incoming fire from Lebanon, with a drone launched toward Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s house in Caesarea, the Israeli government said.
JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel’s government said a drone targeted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s house Saturday, with no casualties, as fighting with Lebanon-based Hezbollah and Gaza -based Hamas showed no pause after the killing of the Hamas mastermind of last year’s Oct. 7 attack.
Israel’s military said dozens of projectiles were launched from Lebanon a day after Hezbollah announced a new phase in fighting. Netanyahu’s office said the drone targeted his house in the Mediterranean coastal town of Caesarea. Neither he nor his wife were there. It wasn’t clear if the house was hit.
I found this pretty shocking. Apparently Lebanon sent three drones, two of which were intercepted.
And the shocking thing for me isn't that a drone managed to get through, but that a head of state backed by the US came so close to real accountability for perpetrating genocide.
I am not an expert in Israeli politics but they feel victimized because of the holocaust. But it’s at the point where they are no longer the victims but the perpetrators.
They don't, actually. To most of them the Holocaust is a propaganda tool to trick Westerners into doing their bidding; to them it's more about Zionism as an ideology and its role as the ideological bedrock of Israeli society.
Would you say Zionism has kind of turned a lot of regular jewish folk who just want to live and not be a part of an apartheid occupation engaging in genocide, would you say that these weird policies have kind of excluded most of the Jewish people in the world from supporting netanyahu, the terrorist
I’m just having fun with language but there is a genocide going on and I don’t know how else to say it
What are you talking about? He's trying to stop genocide. Remember, Gaza shot first on Oct 7th, breaking a ceasefire. Lebanon did the same on Oct 8th. This is war.
Remember, Gaza shot first on Oct 7th, breaking a ceasefire.
I'd like you to point me to that ceasefire and I'll point you to the hundreds of violations by both sides (mostly Israel). It's a joke if you think a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas holds any meaning for more than one or two months.
You mean the 2014 war that only happened because Israel wouldn't lift the blockade as they said they'd do in the 2012 ceasefire? You should find better sources than the Israeli government because otherwise, for good reason, nobody will take you seriously.
