Do you live in an area where the weather can make conditions unsafe sometimes? How do you deal with that?

I can work from home when I need to and that does help.
I have been biking to work for many years and I have gear that can get me down to around 40F/5C before I call it quits. I have a great rain pancho, but I will not ride in the snow due to the dangers from ice.
