- It feels like they actually like star trek which is a departure from what I got from picard and the Kelvin timeline movies.

  If you like one aspect of the franchise you don't need to whine about another not being to your taste to express that. I don't shit on ENT every time I want to talk about DS9.
As other posters have said, I'm not the yugest star trek fan but I really have been enjoying lower decks. I am so pumped for this! I love this crew.
- I was very skeptical when Lower Decks was announced and didn't watch any until the first season had finished, but it and Strange New Worlds are some of the most fun content to come out of this era of Trek. The whole show is just overflowing with love for the franchise.
  
  THIS!! A thousand times, this! 🥳 Both of these series have blown the doors off every single other fan-service attempt at reviving a classic, and I genuinely cannot remember the last time I was so excited for the week IRL to fly by simply so I could have one more episode! 🥰
So, canonically speaking, "Lower Decks" is right around the time Starfleet would find out about the impending Romulan supernova and begin redeploying the fleet for the evacuation.

Maybe a little heavy for this show, but also a convenient excuse to move the Cerritos to the front lines?
Thank the Gods. Not a fan a Star Trek in the typical sense but have really enjoyed lower deck.
