End of the Road: An AnandTech Farewell [AnandTech shutdown]
Not exactly hardware news, but news nonetheless
Wow... i'm surprised they are getting out of the game but I can't say they have been very good recently. When I look for benchmarks or reviews usually hardware unboxed or that guy with the hair are the ones I go to nowadays.
Oh wow! We lost a genuinely good technology news website.
Although, I am not surprised this happened. There was a big overlap between Tomshardware and AnandTech so it makes sense that they would optimize their properties.
These days video reviews are the growth driver. That being said, I do prefer written reviews, I find video reviews to be more difficult to navigate and to drill down into charts.
I always found Tom's hardware more casual and less perfectionnist, but it probably is different between the french edition and the english one (it exists in both, with different teams, and maybe more). IMHO.
Anyway, I really grieve Anand too. RIP.
