Why does Lemmy promote Matrix but not XMPP?
Why does Lemmy promote Matrix but not XMPP?
I mean both of those protocols serve similiar purpose, both are federated and both considered secure. So why can't I have an XMPP address in my profile instead of Matrix? Or are there any reasons why Matrix "works" better with lemmy?

It doesn't only promote "Matrix", but rather the commercial service on
element.io. See my issue/enhancement request here.Because they're much better at "communication"?
