First off if this isn’t the right place to post or there’s a better community to throw this in please let me know.
Now off to the post. Me and my GF got into the whole ttrpg and card game and actually have money to do so
Anyways this whole silly adhd interest between us made me dig up my pokemon cards (binder form when I was in elementary school and decks I built like a couple years ago)
My distribution of my decks is 30/15/15
Now whether this is Pokemon/energy/items I honestly don’t remember. But is it a good distribution or would I want to to less uniform numbers like 28/12/20
If I do where should I start deck building cus honestly I bet I have decent cards but absolutely terrible synergy between cards and stuff
Definitely not the right community since this is for TableTop Role Playing Games, specifically. Not trading card games. As for your question, I think there are Pokémon TCG communities, but not very active ones and usually more focused on collecting than playing. Try https://kbin.social/m/pokemontcg but it looks dead
Deck building in Pokémon TCG can be wildly different depending on the strategy and skill/card level. I’m no expert, but for beginner decks I think about 10-20 energy is good and 20-30 Pokémon, but it really depends. This site is strongly focused on the competitive meta game, so take the results with a grain of salt, but check out https://play.limitlesstcg.com/decks for some examples of what kinds of decks people are making. If you’re using all cards from the 90s, you’ll probably have more Pokémon and energy than trainers. In modern cards you probably see a lot more trainers plus the inclusion of EX, GX, V, etc special Pokémon, which might affect your curve. Competitive decks use almost all trainers and only as many Pokemon and energy as they need. Then they use the trainers and Pokémon powers to fetch for the specific things they need to win.
Also, Pokemon TCG decks are 60 cards, like Magic. Not 50 cards, like Yu-Gi-Oh
