They're pretty, but dogs get scared of them and hide under beds and such and I feel bad for them. With that and pollution/danger, I'm thinking it might be better just to eat hot dogs in celebration instead.
This year I took care of my parent's dog while they traveled. I put him in their bathroom with his bed, turned on the fan, and turned on Netflix on a TV right outside the bathroom.
He was totally calm and relaxed.
It even seemed to reduce his reaction to other fireworks that happened when he was with me in the living room.
Odd that the Beaverton is Canadian but you're mentioning the 4th of July. That said I feel like fireworks cause more issues than they're worth. People with PTSD and many pets that get scared. If they're done in the country and away from homes I don't have a problem with them though
