Very cool! Makes me want to get back out into the bush.

Is your lot all sugar maples? Or is it a natural forest with more diversity?
- Like most things this started with my wife, who is from BC, being excited about living on land with maple trees and saying, "We should hang a couple of buckets and make maple syrup." We're a mature second grown forest with mixed mostly hardwood. We tap all maples including Manitobas, sugars, and silvers. It gives our syrup a unique, not store bought flavor. We just tromp through the woods and tap them where we find them.

  I have fond memories of making syrup with my dad at the cabin and would love to do it with my sons but the cabin is in Ontario and I live in BC.
  
  Is there any profit in it or is it mostly a passion project?
