so it is a waste if you want to live longer (even 4% of multivitamin user die earlier than other in the other study). But it can make you smart.. tough choice

  • When my wife was pregnant we asked about pregnancy multivitamins, and got told if you need a vitamin then you want a specific supplement for that vitamin. For example, a randomly selected multivitamin I just googled has 7mg of iron. A randomly googled iron supplement has 106mg. If you are short on iron, you should take iron supplements not a multivitamin.

    I'd guess if you identify the actual vitamin you're short on, you can get the same outcome with better targeting.

    Also, $1 a day for multivitamins? That's $365 a year, surely going to the doc and getting a prescription would be cheaper than that.
