I'm much more of a producer than a DJ so this might be wrong, but I always assumed Mixcloud was the best place to upload mixes... like, you'd think they have paid for the necessary licenses to be able to host mixes, as 99% of people aren't going to be uploading studio mixes of their own stuff!
Mixcloud doesn't save video streams though, and I originally made this in response to a call for top down views so that the viewer can see what the DJ is doing. I may post more since the OneDrive link seems to work well enough and I don't care about YouTube likes or building a channel.
Ah right, gotcha. Yeah it seems like it's very hard to win (or even, get any eyes on your craft) nowadays. My music is high quality, I've had releases on most top trance labels, but I very much struggle with self-promo / marketing... and there's always 500 other people who don't!
Are you playing out anywhere atm? As a producer I never enjoyed DJing until quite recently, never had my own decks so playing on main lineup was terrifying. Did a 1.5hr set in Finland last year, finally got over the fear hump into my groove and enjoyed it very much.
It's kinda pay to play nowadays, promoters are always keen for people to play for free (or worse, for shifting tickets). Not sure where you are based, club scene here in UK is kind of on its arse after a double combo of pandemic + many venues being converted to flats or offices (or too expensive to run as clubs anymore).
Yep, London here. I went to ASOT London last weekend and met some of the meetup.com Trance group who told me that day clubs have become a thing since all us trance heads are in our 30's to 50's...
I certainly won't get suckered into pay for play. This is my hobby and that is what it will remain unless I get an offer that makes dealing with the late nights worth it.
