Favourite Shows This Season?

Now that we're a few weeks into the season I was wondering what shows people are watching. Which are your "must see" shows? Any unexpected favourites?

  • My favorite is definitely DekiNeko so far. I wasn't interested in the premise and had mixed expectations of this and Megane because they're made by gohands and have the same staff, but I decided to give it a try because why not. It has completely blown my expectations so far, and I hope they manage to keep up the quality somehow despite the staff situation.

The other anime by gohands has also been really good so far, at least since the latter half of episode 1. The first half was really weirdly directed and I could definitely see there why the studio is disliked, but there's none of that in the rest of the show. I'm liking DekiNeko quite a lot more between these two though.

Other shows I'm enjoying a lot are probably more popular: Helck, Zom100, and Murder Farce.

It's not among my favorites, but other than DekiNeko my biggest surprise this season has definitely been Ai no Idenshi.

Despite adapting a 2015 manga, it feels like it was made in direct response to the recent AI boom this year. It uses an episodic format to tackle several important moral questions when it comes to integrating ai into our daily lives. And it doesn't just give you an answer to those questions. It gives you one or two stories exploring both perspectives and lets you figure out your answer yourself. I really don't like the art style and the characters are very bland, but I'm enjoying the episodic stories a lot and it's definitely not at all as generic and low quality as I expected.
