It's the age old thing about talking about people or trying to market the next big thing. As long as they're talking about you, that's a good thing.
Good news, bad news, stupid news, lies, truths, information, disinformation .... none of it matters as long as they're talking about you and the things you want to talk about.
It's modern day media manipulation .... you aggravate your followers, upset the opposition, piss off the sideliners, agitate the ignorant and get everyone fighting all the time ... as soon as they start trying to think for themselves, throw more shit into the fan to get everyone angry again and again and again. All they ever do is fight about things in front of them while you go off into the background to do whatever you want.
People then get divided into two camps .... those that continually fight without end or results ... and those who just give up, step away and willingly embrace ignorance.
Yes! Donald Trump is the mathematic equivalent of the absolute symbol. example: |-99| + |-594| = 693
A negative story is coverage, makes the left talk about him which riles up the right to fight back and vote because they feel oppressed. The right doesn't live in reality, so as long as they know Trump is being talked about that makes him their guy.
I realized this very quickly in 2017 that people were falling for the trap. I have no idea why anyone upvotes anything with Trump in it.
One of the ways I deal with it is by only referring to him as Turnip
