100% laziness. You people are here like it's some Grand conspiracy and I just find that so naive. Yeah a lot of people are lazy yeah most people don't pay attention that's the reality. Most people don't want to know how the sausage is made. Have you ever spoken to the average person? I find it impossible to believe that you speak to average people everyday and you've come to the conclusion that they all would be passionate voters where they're not an evil cabal of politicians trying to keep them down. Most people don't even know when elections happen. Just last fall I went to a store which was across the street from a polling place covered in signs with people outside campaigning this woman at the register saw my I just voted pin and asked me if there was election that day. You really think she didn't know because she was engaged but couldn't vote because of politicians or because she just didn't care?
You're literally missing the plot; engaging with cognitive dissonance. It's not laziness, it's years and years of voter surpression and disenfranchisement. How can you be so blindly stubbornly ignorant? 😮💨
This is just a childish argument you're making here. You just want a simple answer. You want something convenient and easy to wave your hand at. It's so much easier to believe in some giant cabal than understand that politics is a matter of working. It's getting on the streets knocking on doors and building engagement when the natural state of things is disengagement. 2/3 of Voters are disengaged by Nature, the key to Victory is grabbing half of them and getting their votes. It's waking them up. It's convincing them.
Also if you want people that believe your arguments try actually making an argument instead of just resorting to insults. You've literally not tried once in our entire interaction.
I'm not interested in arguing with someone so dense. You can investigate voter suppression and disinfranchisement, maybe enlighten yourself, or you can continue to blame your fellow voters for everything and see how far that gets you. Either way neither of us will be able to affect change, but at least I'll be able to sleep at night without being a ignorant rube too high on his own self-righteous "I care about politics!" Copium to realize that politics and politicans have had a vested interest in a lack of public participation for years and they've acted upon that interest. There's no cabal, conspiracy, or shadow nonsense it's happening in broad daylight right in front of you. Gerrymandering, electoral college votes, voter suppression via voting location reduction, campaigns against proven safe mail in voting. Idk how you're so fucking dense, but hey, you vote so for my own vested interests sake (because I don't want it to be this way) I waste air and time responding to you, although it's becoming abundantly clear you'd rather root yourself in ignorance and victim blaming.
And there it is. Neither of us will be able to affect change you say. That's the real core of your argument here. You just want an excuse not to do anything. Some of us affect change every day. Some of us are out there knocking on doors while you sit on your couch.
Jesus fuck my guy; you're so fucking attached to your self righteousness it's egregious. If you honestly believe you're affecting change in a system this large by having the viewpoints and attitude you do, you're delusional. Nobody wants your bullshit door to door. They feel and are disinfranchised. If your creepy ass showed up to my door, I'd shut it on you because it's fucking weird and stupid given a modern understanding of politics to campaign that way. You're an old man working in DOS, but times have changed. They've left you behind. Be mad about it if you want, but you've got nobody to blame except perhaps the very "parties" you're aiming to aid.
Enjoy sitting alone on a couch complaining that you can't do anything while the world moves around you. You've created a lot of justification for yourself.
