Want a 3D printer in New York? Get ready for fingerprinting and a 15 day wait
www.nysenate.gov NY State Assembly Bill 2023-A8132Requires a criminal history background check for the purchase of a three-dimensional printer capable of creating firearms; prohibits sale to a person who would be disqualified on the basis of criminal history from being granted a license to possess a firearm.

> Want a 3D printer in New York? Get ready for fingerprinting and a 15 day wait > > > Assembly Bill A8132 has been assigned a "Same As" bill in the Senate: S8586 [NYSenate.gov] [A8132 - 2023] > > I don't own a gun, I never have and I don't plan to at any time in the future. But if these pass in the NYS Senate and Congress, it would be required to submit fingerprints for a background check then wait 15 days, before you could own any "COMPUTER OR COMPUTER-DRIVEN MACHINE OR DEVICE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A > THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT FROM A DIGITAL MODEL." > > This isn't even going to stop any crimes from happening, for pity sakes regular guns end up in criminal charges all the time, regardless of background check laws. How about some real change and effective measures, rather then virtue-signaling and theater illusion for a constituency? >

I made some initiative marker rings for my table and felt I should share
Any questions about them feel free to ask

Hierophant
This was like eight different prints, and a lot of failures. Some warpage occured around mating faces but some green stuff for filler in cracks works wonders.

Da Boys Iz Bak
Progress has sort of stalled on the rest of the mob, but I thought you might like to see the first three members of my Gorkamorka boys.

Just finished test printing my latest project
I've just finished tweaking this Leman Russ proxy, inspired by the very original model released for Epic back in the 80s. It's designed to be easy to print in FDM (no supports required for printing), the one pictured was printed on a stock Ender 3.
I'm fairly happy with how this one turned out, I've a little bit of tidying up to do, but hope to have the model up on Cults3D next week.

Calling this done! 3d printed not-tyranid for my D&D campaign.

> It's done because I've got two other primed but unpainted tyranids ready to go and that feels like more fun than working on this one any more, which is good enough for the table. This is the way.

Some retro guardsmen
The guardsmen were printed from scans of the original 80s plastic kit the ogryns are scans of the 90s metal ones and the commissar is from cults3d.
All printed on an Ender 3 with a 0.2mm nozzle (apart from the bases, they used a 0.4mm nozzle, I'm not insane).

Printed models = freedom to experiment
I'm not loving how these look, but nonetheless, I had fun playing with inks through my airbrush.
Granted I can always strip and repaint, but even if I end up being lazy...these cost almost nothing but time to try. If I try again I'll definitely avoid pearlescent inks.

At what point is it no longer a mini?
I'm working on printing and painting this 35mm scale tavern airship from Arcane Minis and at what point does it go from "mini" to something else? It topped 20kg last night and it's less than half done.

Axolotl trophy for a young fan
Gaming-adjacent as a trophy plaque for a kiddo super excited about axolotls 🤩🥳
Edit: not really sure why the images aren't posting, but Jerboa keeps throwing an error. 🤷🏼♂️ Imgur link instead for now https://imgur.com/a/Y20gixB

Hoarders Hunt golden trophy WIP
Custom sculpted for a French client, inspired by the official version (to be awarded to the first player to finish the latest puzzle series in Sea of Thieves S9) — but this one's better IMHO. 🤪 Emerald eyes printing in a couple hours!
Should I design a way for the eyes to light up? I'm thinking of magnetizing the keyring so it attaches to the roof of the mouth and closes the circuit, lighting up the gems. Coin battery in the forehead for power. Thoughts?

Tiamat's five heads, 200% original scale
Only two more full print plates (Jupiters) to go, and the rear half of the torso and the big wings will be ready for post-proc & shipping! (The Bahamut medallion there is ⌀ 50mm, btw.) Then, we're onto a 200% Bahamut, by Lord of the Print — which will stand over 2ft tall and nearly 3ft wide, wingtip to wingtip. 😱
Lesson learned: Each full plate of these upscaled sculpts run about 1L of resin, so I'll be updating the pricing for the 150%+ versions. 🤣🤷🏼♂️

Periwinkle blue, boys. Custom gift, just wanted to see if I could do it.
Surprise gift for my better half: Rococo mirror filigree, designed, printed and hand-painted by yours truly. 🥰

Recent commission: a fan's current character, Zhog, in the style of The Order of the Stick
Sculpted from scratch by our in-house designer (very small team), this is the first test print all primed up and ready for his color rough. (Elegoo Jupiter, Vroom settings, custom resin mix, Vallejo black primer)

Upscaling 3D models includes every dimension — especially chaos. 😅
Spawned of an idea late one night, this Tiamat by Lord of the Print is still mid-print at a ~200% upscale. 😱 To clarify, the original size red dragon head is shorter than the thumb seen here, and that version's wingspan is already pushing 15in. Live & learn, eh? 🤣🤘🏼 Onward and upward!
