005 is the most influential game you’ve never played.
  • So SEGA and Konami (the corporation) knew about it. Let's assume that. Are there records or interviews (from studios, individual developers, games historians, etc.) from that time on record saying they played and enjoyed it?

Simultaneous/independent invention in a highly experimental and novel industry is way more likely to me, but if you can produce some sort of proof of influence on studios that explicitly iterated on what 005 did, then that's much more convincing than a Guinness World Record that only "proves" they were first (historically, they did barely any fact-checking and, in some cases, you could bribe them).

It also hurts the credibility of the article for it to say "people liked it," and then not link to any sources like reviews or sales numbers. How can I know that anyone liked it unless I do independent verification of these claims? It's striving to be informative but with a "trust me bro" type of approach.

  • Trump promises 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports — including from Canada
  • We didn't make a czar, we are changing the title of a position that already exists. Just because Trump is a bully doesn't mean he can't be placated by sweet nothings that caress his ego.

If Trump wants to play a game, we can play too. If you think that's rolling over, that's a you problem. Trump is obviously using this situation to allow him to declare a false national emergency to bypass Congress. These actions are technically illegal under both US and international law.

In a world where lying had consequences, this wouldn't be happening. To expect Trudeau to fight back aggressively against a nation with the most powerful military in the world while it's controlled by the most volatile and capricious politician in modern history is to expect it to rain cream soda - i.e., it's stupid.

  • what are “female jocks” called?
  • Oh, interesting; that wasn't my experience at all. There were popular/preppy girls that played sports, but there was a separate type of girl that played multiple sports and made it, like, part of their identity like the guys did. Didn't really have a name for them, though.

I guess "jock" would work for a girl/woman, but if you said "I hooked up with a jock last night," everyone would assume you meant a guy. So it's not really a gender neutral term.

  • Is it easier to screen record Prime Video on Mac or Windows?
  • Ah, so it's so you can edit out inappropriate stuff for your kids or students or something? Yeah, that's hard.

You'd think there'd be some sort of extension or database with a crowdsourced filtering system like SponsorBlock for this purpose where you could just look up the timestamps for the stuff you don't want. I don't have a reason to edit out content so I haven't looked into whether such a thing exists or not.

  • what are “female jocks” called?
  • In my area, that's a word for popular/materialistic girls, not athletic ones. I think OP means to find a term for girls who are athletic, not for the stereotypical girl "equivalent" (i.e., not a girl like Cher from Clueless).

  • Selfhosted Trakt.tv alternative?
  • Is there any reason you want a self-hosted service for this rather than making an account with TMDB or TVDB? Trakt fetches all of its metadata from those 2 sites (it prioritizes TMDB).

Not that you shouldn't self-host an alternative, but you don't have to.

  • Why not let workers live in the office?
  • To actually address the question, it's because commercial buildings don't (generally) meet residential building code requirements, even if there's a kitchenette and a shower, etc. They are simply not meant for the same purpose or to be occupied 24/7 unless they were engineered that way from the start, which is exceedingly rare. A lot of office buildings have floor-to-ceiling windows and complex HVAC systems simply to make sure people aren't cold, breathing stale air, or too humid/dry, so they also use a lot of energy.

  • Iran Leader Says U.S. Talks 'Not Intelligent or Honorable'
  • And i recognize your account its the second time you defend capitalism

LMAO! What? Bro, that's crazy to hear since I'm a staunch socialist. But whatever! I guess you are the wrong person to talk to about this.

Also, I'm a born and raised Canadian with no Iranian heritage. I am mostly English and French-Canadian. Who do you think you are?

  • Iran Leader Says U.S. Talks 'Not Intelligent or Honorable'
  • I don't doubt you, I'm just trying to get your perspective on why these differences exist. But maybe that's me acting entitled to information from a random person and I would be better off watching a documentary or something.
