omeme tenten - Kuriimii Noroitte

A song I've discovered on YouTube a few days ago. Judging by the age of the YouTube channel, the band seems to be rather new.

I can recommend their other songs as well.

SCANDAL - Line of sight

Another rocking song by the fabulous ladies, on occasion of today's announcement of SCANDAL's new album "LUMINOUS" which will also include this track.

NECRY TALKIE - bloom

This is the MV of the opening song of the "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off" anime (which, by the way, I can totally recommend; it's awesome).

I really like the 2D "game visuals" in the MV. These are done in the same style as in the "Scott Pilgrim agains the World" movie.

Hump Back - Linger

One of the heavier tracks from Hump Buck.

I generally like their faster paced (and heavier) songs.

Gacharic Spin - Kachi-kachi Yama (Official Music Video)

Gacharic Spin - another band I've heard a lot of praise for that I'm just now getting into. They are definitely very talented and bring some crazy energy! So definitely the right stuff to get you fired up for the weekend!

Kaneyorimasaru - Kimi ni sayonara

The MV for the new single Kimi ni sayonara was just released.

I like this kind of melancholic/slightly sad songs and I've been listening to this song on repeat for the past hour. It's really good :)

SCANDAL - Highlight no Naka de Bokura Zutto

The MV of the latest single from my favorite band just dropped.

Once again I'm thinking about how far they have come since the start. Their musical style has changed quite a bit over the years which may not be everybody's cup of tea but I really like them (the songs and the band 😛) and the new song is no exception.

ExWHYZ - NOT SORRY

I really like the mix of Rock and EDM in this song.

CENT - Kesshin

"CENT" is CENT CHiHiRO CHiTTiii's solo project. She started it before the end of BiSH.

This is one of the more rock-like songs from her.

HOTEI - Andromeda (feat. AiNA THE END)

One of the songs I'm currently listening to. The song and the music video feel more like a something from a musical. I quite like it. It makes me wish to be able to understand Japanese.

DeepL translates the video description as follows:

>Tomoyasu Hotei's long-awaited latest work "GUITARHYTHM Ⅶ". In the 35 years since his solo debut "GUITARHYTHM" after the breakup of BOØWY, this is the seventh installment in the popular series that has impacted the scene by opening up an overwhelming world view. > >Set in the year 2023, the first year of AI, the sound concept of this album is "Retro Future," reminiscent of 90s modern music, with a message of hope and warning for the future, and Hotei's guitar sings sharply and elongated throughout the entire album. The album has been highly acclaimed by many artists who should be called "guitarism children," and has been called the best work in the history of guitarism. > >The music video for "Andromeda (feat. Aina the End)," which was released earlier in the year, has been a huge hit with fans on both sides. The film, directed by the brilliant Atsunori Higashiichi, depicts the sad and strange story of a scientist (played by Hotei) and an android (played by Aina the End) who entrust their dreams for the future to an android in a spectacular science fiction rock opera. Aina the End's stunning performance and presence, along with Hotei's silhouette, are stylishly and densely presented in this music video, which is sure to be talked about as a masterpiece that will remain in the history of music videos. > >GUITARHYTHM Ⅶ" is an ambitious work that should be enjoyed by people of all ages, and can be called the culmination of Hotei's constant challenge to new styles as a guitarist.

Moon In June - Head for München (Official Music Video)

I'll be honest, I took notice of this this one mainly because of the title... 😅 Kind of unusual, and I'd be curious if the lyrics actually refer to Munich, Germany.

It is a wonderfully atmospheric song in its own right though.

Wang Dang Doodle - GIRI GIRI GIRL (+interview link in post text)

Shamelessly cribbed from Reddit, but I found this too interesting not to share here right away. It's a really fun kind of blues-styled pop-rock, give it a listen.

Bonus: An interview with the band where they talk about their background and their blues inspiration.
