I'm afraid the next big news will be the funeral. They should just scrap the whole thing and move on to make 3 if they have ideas. Or just reverse this whole shit show and go back to "1".
I had so many hours in the first game. And I tried really hard to like the sequel, but far too many of the changes they made were for the worse. Specially having such awful monetization.
Ditto. My wife and I were playing since about 6-10mo after launch. We loved the game.
Tried the OW2 beta for a day or two, didn't like it. Uninstalled OW the day OW2 launched and that was that. Back to every-other-game-I've-missed-out-on-over-the-last-40-years-that-I-can-occupy-my-time-with-instead!
Yep same. I was kinda excited about the PvE aspect, and hoped I could adapt to the new pvp. Instead I find I miss the two-tank dynamic of OW1, and the pace of fighting in OW2 just feels like it's missing something. I tried for a couple of days, but it just felt soulless and grindy and I ended up uninstalling. I had 5-figure hours in OW1, I just want the good game back...
What a disaster. I feel sorry for the fans who were lied to by ABK on what they were receiving with OW2. It definitely feels like the point of moving to OW2 was just to pivot to a more exploitive monetization model.
I strongly suspect that's exactly what happened; OW2 was a "New Coke" style smoke screen to cover the transition to a predatory battle pass monetization scheme. I don't think they ever seriously intended to add a fully-realized PvE mode.
