Unpopular opinion: Semi-colon should be the default delimiter instead of comma or tab

I've had to deal with the abomination that is pipe delimited files...

Personally my preferred one is the quick proof of concept that I threw together to teach a student that character delimitation is an arbitrary thing: the emoji-separated variable.

Of course they immediately proceeded to make 🍆 the delimiter and 💦 the quote, which I should've expected.

And call it filename.sdv ?

Ive dealt with pipe separated data, colon separated data, and tilde separated data

Honestly commas are the most disruptive delimiter to choose
