Hello members of programming.dev! Currently weve got communities popping up that are being requested from https://programming.dev/post/5189 (if you want a community make sure to throw it in there)
If you want to mod one of the communities feel free to say so down below! In order for Lemmy to allow you to be modded you need to have a post in the community first as well
If you start running a community make sure to get some posts in there for people to interact with and get some activity going!
Edit some communities now have hit two or more members of the mod team. If this is case you need to apply to those mods rather than me as im letting them handle how they want to run it
Alright ive added you. For cpp questions those can just go in the main community for now as there isnt much activity. If it makes sense to split up language community topics in the future when it grows then Ill look into doing so
I have limited time but I’d be happy to help mod the functional programming community for now and share the load or hand it off later if/when it grows and other people express interest in helping out.
I hear the last similar social media site had horrible pay, hours and in the end started to take heavily used features away from its users and was ran by a horrible CEO that looked like the embodiment of its platform.
Alright
ExperiencedDevs still doesnt have a dedicated mod so thats open. In order to be modded on Lemmy you first need to have either a post or a comment in that community. Once you do one ill mod you over there if you want
For cscareerquestions there should be a similar community popping up soon once I get to making it. Its been requested in the requesting thread and should be making it soon
Yep should be making them next, been working through my list. Once I get them up ill reply to you again and then you can make a post for me to mod you (since Lemmy requires that you have a post in the community to be modded)
Hey, some of those already have more than two mods so you would need to contact the mods of them to ask (the people on the mod list that arent admins)
In terms of the ones that dont theres typescript, javascript, and gamedev. And then theres humor and godot which im one of the mods for. Any community you would want to be a mod for you just need either a comment or a post in it
For rust you would have to contact one of the current mods (the people on the mod list apart from me and snowe) since theyre above two mods. C you can be added to if you make a post or comment there. C++ is in a limbo state where its technically out of the instance so mods cant be added to it until thats fixed.
I've got one over at https://lemm.ee/c/svelte but don't think programming.dev allows lemm.ee. I'll try to migrate my subscribers over, I definitely think it makes more sense to have it here
I am working primarily with .NET (c/dotnet) and C# (c/csharp). Although I have limited time, I can try helping moderate the two communities for the time being.
Hey, for javascript just reach out to https://programming.dev/u/nick as theyre the one running it. In order to be modded though you would need a post or a comment in the community for lemmy to allow it
Alright ive added you as a mod in clojure. The C++ community is in a limbo state currently for an unknown reason so I cant mod you in there yet (hence the longer name since its not showing up in the communities in the instance)
For all of those youll need to dm one of the current mods as theyre all at 2 or above so theyre deciding how theyre running it (and theres no intellij community atm) (people on the list that arent me or snowe)
You also need a post or a comment in the community to be modded there
I can help with golang and DevOps. Although golang for me is by necessity and not my main language, but happy to help where I can, to take load off of the admins.
Ive modded you on nix, for neovim since theyre at two mods already theyre the ones deciding how they want to grow. You can dm one of them asking (howarddo or kahnclusions)
Hello. I've just found this brilliant instance and would happily devote some time to moderating a community. I see c/learnprogramming only has one (other than you) currently, perhaps I could lend a hand there?
Ive added you to golang. For java youll need to dm one of the two mods in the community since theyre already at 2 and you need either a post or a comment in kotlin to be modded there
