Per Mercogliano, apparently the Rangers are looking to trade down from 23. Thing is, will 23 have to be packaged with the Goodrow contract to clear out space for guys like Chytil to get pay raises? Drury's going to have some real work on his hands this summer trying to build a competitive roster in the last two year's of Igor's deal, and if he doesn't, I think we might be seeing 31 in another sweater come the 2025-26 season.
The Rangers have a goaltender that they need to take advantage of. I don't know what their best strategy to do so might be.
Score goals? Then again, both drafts that had the Rangers in the top two were a bit shit. Laf and Kakko are both bordering on bust territory, and I have to think Drury's seat is scorching now. Especially after the playoffs this past season. If the Rangers can't get to the second round in 2023-24, I'd want him out immediately.
