Surprisingly unpopular opinion in my household, I think St Patrick's Day should be a VIC holiday.
I just reckon enough people casually follow it, so it would be a better holiday than some of our others. The main issue is the placing of it.
The day after St Patrick's Day if anything đź’€
Same with the Grand Final day off...why the Friday? Let people get turnt on Saturday night, carry on into Sunday and have Monday to rehydrate.
The Friday seems silly, but I'll take it anyway
I believe Friday is the day they parade the football players around town so that people can assess their form before placing their bets. Like with horses before a race.

Hard Agree! Friday is the best day of the week! So little expectations, so much potential ahead.
And Friday before a long weekend is essentially a free day. BOOM 4 day weekend just like that.

Either way, Monday is better.
