i think the author is not very fond of "american" games.
It's a pretty common term, actually, and not always used unlovingly. Still, the idea of "American" games versus "Euro" games isn't as useful as it once was for differentiating board game genres.
This looks neat but "Eurogames" encompasses a HUGE evolving tree of its own these days. Would love to see something similar for the taxonomy of modern euro mechanics.
My Spanish isn't great, but looks like a nice overview! I haven't heard of Virus!, I'm guessing it's a Spanish game?

Its a card game where each player has exactly three cards in hand at any given time. Some cards are body parts and you will try to build your "body". Other cards are viruses and you can infect other peoples bodyparts. Some cards can steal body parts, switch them or cure them.
TIL that Viral is not the only game with this theme!
