The mind is a powerful thing. It creates our reality. In the future, it will likely be possible to hijack it to assemble a wholly different world that exists only in our heads. But, some may choose to go a step further and actually forget who they actually. Full immersion. Would you? Because, at the end of the experience you'd wake to discover that everyone you knew and loved were illusions. Could you recover from that? Losing friends, sure, they come and go all the time. I could integrate and reconcile that. But parents, siblings... children? How emotionally devastating would that be? Just a little something I was thinking about today.
