Have you heard of Kernza? I find it so fascinating
Kernza is a newly-discovered, perennial grain that might just change modern agriculture for the better.
Last I heard, yields were very low so while a cool attempt, it’s not clear it can ever compete with wheat. Interesting that they’ve managed to double the yield though I would wonder how the new strains match up before getting too excited.
There’s a brewery here in Portland that has two Kernza beers out now
Cool, are they just locally distributed or could you find them elsewhere? I’d be interested to try them.
