Is that a mouse? Or a lemming?
I just keep seeing this mouse everywhere, but it would make sense if it was a lemming. It's a lemming, right? Where does the name Lemmy come from anyways?
The GitHub about page (below) lists 4 reasons why it’s called Lemmy:
- Lead singer from Motörhead.
- The old school video game.
- The Koopa from Super Mario.
- The furry rodents.
36 2 Replyha! I love that it’s a nod to motorhead. I had no idea, but thas what I thought about when I went to lemmy
17 1 ReplyWith the Lemmy Koopa being named after the Motörhead singer, that makes him 2/4 on the listed reasons.
16 0 ReplyAlso, little known fact: the rodent is also named after the Motörhead singer. Weird but true.

I'll pick that one, as it's the cutest. ;)
Lets gnaw away the Reddit market share, 1 lemming at a time. (or form a lemming train out of there)
8 0 ReplyAh so it's a mix of things but also lemmings. They travel in groups and disperse from time to time so it makes for an appropriate mascot.

Isn't that specifically for the Jerboa app though? The mouse for Lemmy is 100% a lemming:

11 0 ReplyLooks like a mouse to me too. Not like a lemming at all. So it must be a mouse called Lemmy.
