If you've ever wondered if you're really getting as much bang for your buck at the bar as you think you are, these worst-value cocktails will clear that up.
I am not sure I define value as alcohol per dollar as they do here - what you are paying for (IMO) is service and flavor not trying to get the most drunk per dollar.
Talk about a tough article. They flip flop between wanting things to be the most alcoholic or things that "taste good". It almost reads like it was written by AI. Instead of a "best and worst" drink list, I think it would be better to have a recommendation based on flavors people like or a "if you like this, try this" list. But I guess that doesn't get the clicks. I mean, I clicked it anyway.
I did think it weirdly written. Wanted it more as a prompt, honestly. It did get me thinking about the value of going out for drinks, instead of just making them at home & sitting on the porch - decided after thinking about it that for me the value is almost entirely in going out, and the remaining bit in quality, maybe even beyond creativity. Though I will almost always try the bartender's drink-of-the-day special if there is one.
I am also a lightweight so while I love a boozy delicious one-and-done at home, when out I would rather be able to comfortably have 2-3 drinks.
Yeah, I gotcha. I think it would be interesting to try and figure out what people consider when deciding the value of going out. I'll bet if you look at the places that are really popular, there are similarities that makes them "worth the value" for folks.
