I have an idea for an Anti India activity we could partake in, they assassinated a Canadian in Canada. Sounds like grounds for some saber rattling over NATO article 50, maybe some vague threats to India, and a renewed investment in our armed forces. Sends a message, avoids any real violence, and gives the governments of either country an easy out.
Canada should not engage with countries who commit assassinations on Canadian soil, full stop.

None of which changes the fact that, if it turns out the allegations are true, India has absolutely no right to unilaterally murder Canadian citizens on Canadian soil. Period.
I don't care who the victim is or what they did. That is a line that cannot be crossed.
All of this talk of the Sikh community and Khalistani separatism is a distraction. None of it actually matters. It does not and cannot justify India's actions. At most it provides interesting background colour. But that's all.
I agree completely. I just think it's worthwhile to have the background information to understand why they are pissed off at Canada. I've known a LOT of Sikhs and have liked them all. They were all kind, gentle people. The people who blew up the Air India plane were extremists. The Indian government are also extremists. The Sikh separatists and the extremist Indian government are having a dick waving contest. I wish they would both fuck right off.

The Canadian high commissioner, or ambassador, in New Delhi had been summoned and told of the expulsion decision, India's foreign ministry said in a statement.
"The decision reflects the government of India’s growing concern at the interference of Canadian diplomats in our internal matters and their involvement in anti-India activities," the ministry added.
"The concerned diplomat has been asked to leave India within the next five days."
Earlier on Tuesday, India dismissed the Canadian accusation as "absurd and motivated" and urged it instead to take legal action against anti-Indian elements operating from its soil.
