Problem with a community on another instance
I found and subscribed to https://sh.itjust.works/c/[email protected] yesterday and when I view it on sh.itjust.works I don't see any posts but on the original instance I'm seeing many posts.
Does anyone know what's going on there?
might be something to do with language tags, if the post is tagged with a language not selected in your profile you won't see the post.
I haven't figured out yet how to add more languages to the profile selector though.
6 0 ReplyI have all the languages available to select selected, but swedish unfortunately isn't one of them
4 0 ReplyWhat happens if you unselect all languages in your profile? That's my setting and I can see lots of posts.
4 0 Replyyes, same here, I subscribed to a portuguese community but I can't see any posts, I'm guessing this is the reason.

I have a partial answer. Apparently, when someone subscribes to a community on another server, the subscribing server begins pulling in posts from that point forward. (I’ve also seen some say from the previous 24 hours.).
I don’t see sh.itjust.works on https://lemmy.helvetet.eu/instances. So, perhaps there’s an approval process on their end for federation?
I do see lemmy.helvetet.eu on https://sh.itjust.works/instances
So, whatever is up is clearly on the lemmy.helvetet.eu end.
5 0 Reply"helvetet.eu" isn't open sign up according to the Federation statistics. There's a good chance the sub is waiting for approval of some sort.
3 0 ReplyHello, Sorry to check, but are you sure you set your scope to "subscribed" and not "local"?
2 0 ReplyI am, also if I go directly to the community it shows "No posts" which isn't true if you look at it on the instance's own page for that community it shows 15 posts.

FYI. It's the same for me.
2 0 ReplyI'm seeing lots of posts when following your link, so maybe whatever the problem was resolved itself?
1 0 ReplyHm, still not working for me.

Similar issue maybe: https://lemmy.world/c/trackmania exists, but I cannot find it on here: https://sh.itjust.works/c/[email protected]
1 0 ReplyIt's a bit weird, if no one else has searched it then the connection doesn't exist. I just searched it and now it does https://sh.itjust.works/c/[email protected]
If you wanted to search this new community you had to click the magnifying glass in the top right and search [email protected] in this case.
2 0 Replyoh interesting, good tip, thanks!
