Yesterday, I had a perfect day. We came in with a game plan: front load squat and bench and pull whatever necessary without a third attempt to secure 1100.
We did it.
Walking off the platform going 8/8 with more in the tank on bench and deadlift was a great feeling.
I had to trust myself more than ever this prep. I trained through injury and some majorly stressful life events. No one gives a shit what happens behind the scenes, just how you show up on the day, and I did that. I had the best total of my life in my first sleeved meet. This was validation for me as a coach and athlete that I really needed.
This was my first time competing in Ontario. First meet in sleeves and walking out a squat. I needed to prove that I deserve to be here, that I’m not broken for good.
Thank you to @fullzottl for handling me. If you’ve seen us at a meet, you know how much we love taking care of our athletes. I got to be on the receiving end of the effort, detail, and encouragement. Thank you for believing in me, supporting me, putting up with every pain day and subsequent bad session, every tear-filled hissy fit, being there for every PR, every missed rep… You are passionate and dedicated like I’ve never seen. Our clients are so fucking lucky to have you. Thank you for taking care of us.
This meet was 100% for you, our athletes, and our business.
