Hi all, I want to share a couple of updates we have planned for daily objectives in the Wizard's Vault. A number of you had a frustrating experience over the weekend with Valdhertz Crypts as part of your daily objectives list. We are working on an update that will remove the Valdhertz objective f...
I also want to reiterate that we are continuing to read and discuss all of your feedback. With that in mind, we are planning to adjust the number of Wizard's Vault daily objectives. Our current plan is to add another objective without raising the number required for "completing" your daily. So you'll still need to complete four objectives, but you'll have another choice to the list in order to give you additional flexibility. This will be part of the September 12 game update mentioned in the post last week. We'll continue to evaluate feedback both now and then.
Hoping they'll make things auto complete I keep forgetting to click claim...
It blows my mind that Valdhertz is still bugged 18+ months after it was introduced. I think I've had it work correctly once in the half-dozen times I've tried it - enough to get the achievement but not enough to actually finish my dailies yesterday. Still, at least they're acknowledging the issue and are doing something.
It would be nice to be able to select PvE and WvW and get a more varied selection of activities, but the extra daily change goes a little way to enabling that, at least.
Why would it blow your mind. Fixing this just has extremely low priority so it will never get fixed. The time since the bug happened doesn't increase its priority, on the contrary. This issue is not severe in any way if crypt is not in daily system.
I guess I have a higher expectation for working content than you do. My surprise isn't that a low priority task isn't getting done (ignoring the fact that nobody from ArenaNet has stated what its priority is), it's that it would be given such a low priority in the first place, and that the best course of action is to remove it as a daily rather than fix it. It's even more surprising when you consider that entry into the mini-dungeon is hidden behind an achievement that the player can't possibly know about without looking it up (which is probably a good argument for it not being a daily in the first place). Therefore you can spend half an hour or more just getting to the final room just to find out it's bugged and to give up. It's not a good look for a game that is relatively bug-free.
This... is not a fix to the problem. One extra mission is nice, but we still have to lock content type for some reason and old content is still WON'T FIX status.
I think Valdhertz bugs because people stomp through it too quickly and kill things before certain internal events get to run, stalling the entire thing. Completing it yesterday with one other person and thankfully we successfully completed the daily.
However, adding an additional option is a good idea and I look forward to it, as there are objectives I've not wanted to do.
I mean, glad they acknowledge the issue, but this is literally the laziest fix possible
They never promise to fix the instance, nor the underlying problem with dailies. 1 additional choice sounds good, but it's nowhere near the amount of choice we had before
It's good for a start. It will provide enough choice for me at least. Other problems require more time and analysis to come up with a proper solution.
They might simply not have resources to fix bugs in that instance. If fixing them would delay for example next quarterly patch by 2 weeks, I would rather them to just remove it from a daily. They should focus on fixing new content bugs right now.
