Thumbnails not working on my instance [SOLVED]
I see I am not alone in this issue. I see many profiles with broken avatar images. Anyone know how to fix it. BTW I am using cloud-flare and I see some weird stuff happening with the image request. If anyone has fixed this please share.
Not sure if it is my reverse proxy or cloudflare. Anyway when i request an image https://leddit.minnal.icu/pictrs/image/bb98aeae-cb5b-4b1a-a2bb-525179d32934.png , I am actually getting an html document which includes this string <script>window.isoData = {"path":"/pictrs/image/bb98aeae-cb5b-4b1a-a2bb-525179d32934.png ........ very long script...</script>
Something unexpected happened. Added HTML to a comment broke the page for me. page source appeared on top of the page and could not interact with any UI elements.
Solution: I was using Nginx Proxy Manager and cache assets was turned on. Today I read the release notes about lemmy 18.0 and decided to turn of caching and voila...
TLDR: Turn off caching at the reverse proxy.
