Adelaide City Council is set to approve $20m in ratepayer funds to demolish the Adelaide Aquatic Centre and restore surrounding park lands, after the Lord Mayor labelled the existing facility “unsaveable, unrepairable and unusable” amid plans for a new facility.
I had no idea this was on anyone's mind.

Aw, what a shame! I have some good memories going there as a kid with my mum.
With the new heatwaves up in the northern hemisphere I am not looking forward to our turn. I bet this year the public swimming pools and beaches will be pretty full because of this!

Mid North SA - the signs are already there. There was a thunderstorm around mid night. I had to go out and stow something. Noticed it was 14C. That is unusually warm here for a midnight in July.
They are not just demolishing the aquatic centre and building something in that plot of land. The problem is that they are expanding into the surrounding parklands that locals are against. This was brought up quite a while ago.
