I went back with fresh eyes and mind, having now seen early-days Angeball for myself, to look at what this style of football has won his teams. We know about Celtic and Yokohama and winning the Asia Cup...
But it's worth remembering just how consistent he's been and just how dominant his teams are over their peers. Other managers seem unable to work him out and he has these incredible winning streaks.
This is good.
Are we daring to dream yet?
Can Levy provide enough backing?
Has he learned his lessons from the Poch, Mourinho, Conte sequence?
Will Scott Munn be the difference in the C-suite?
Who will be the new DoF?
How will JL's indictment affect things?
Many questions to answer in this coming season.
At least the football is fun.
Question for anyone who's been following Ange for a long time: we talk about Angeball, but is he able to adapt and evolve like the best managers do? E.g. like Pep has done as probably the best example in modern management. Pep never stands still. If you stand still in the #EPL as a manager, you're dead. Look at Conte and Mourinho. Look at how Wenger faded away.
What's Ange's profile in this regard?
