Can lemmy users not reply to kbin comments? [SOLVED]

I have a specific comment on one of my posts that I cannot reply to. The only thing I can guess is that the commenter is coming from kbin.

Is this a thing? Can I not reply to kbin comments/posts?

Try setting your language from the dropdown below the comment box to "English" - does that fix it?

I'm creating new posts and commenting all the time on a kbin instance from lemmy, no problems so far.
