and the other communities don't steal banners from reddit:)
Still can't figure out if it would be a good thing or a bad thing to post the same threads in both of them😠I love the idea of federation, but I'm still at the stage where it's all really confusing...
Thanks for this:) You might wanna check the local kbin links - swap the "c"s in the addresses for "m"s and they should be good
Wait a minute, those do have "m"s in them. Am I going mad? Or actually maybe you left this comment before I edited it this morning and for some reason it's just notified me now. Yay federation things lol.
(also it wouldn't let me post this reply without selecting a language, deffo something funky going on in this thread!)
I wrote this as an answer to the original post, but Lemmy didn't send it; the loading circle just loaded forever.
But this is what it is:
If you want me to take it down, I can do that(?)
I took the banner from reddit, so I assume it's made by the mods there; I don't claim credit for it. If the mods message me or just write here, I can give them mod access (I already wrote this under their twitter account). I just created this because no r/eurovision alternative existed yet, and I thought it would be good to have one. And I took the banner from the subreddit because it's familiar (and I didn't have the time to design something by myself).
I didn't initially think it's something bad when trying to migrate a community, but if someone had asked me, I would have taken it down (I still can and probably will).
Thank you for pointing me towards the other ones as well. This one is the oldest and has more subscribers than feddit (I created it because no other existed yet), so I'd post it to all instances to just find one. :)
I also just wanted to help bring reddit content to lemmy, and especially a subreddit I like and enjoy.
Thank you @[email protected] for writing about commenting with the language, I didn't figure out that this was the reason I couldn't send an answer here before I read this haha.
Update: I did create a new banner showing the three last winners. Using the reddit banner wasn't in malicious intent, but since it wasn't liked by some people, I hope this is a good alternative. :)
