Fragrance: Imaginary Authors - Falling Into the Sea
I've been really enjoying this bottle of Falling Into the Sea that I picked up recently. A really beautiful summertime frag. A great shave today with a favorite razor and a fun scent in Catie's Bubbles cream base.
The only thing that was new to me on this shave is the blade, so I'll write a bit about that. I've avoided the Derby Extra because of the mixed but generally somewhat negative talk I've seen about it. But today I decided to try it. My conclusion? Not particularly sharp, left some more stubble on my face than others, but smooth on on the parts of my face which don't have the thickest hairs and a little tuggy on the thicker parts. So it wasn't the most pleasant or effective for me, but for someone with thinner hair who shaves daily I think it might be quite good. Perhaps that explains why some love it and some hate it (like marmite).
Ahhh, with the wife out of town, enjoying a good time in London, I'm here slathering myself with Tabac and reveling in the Glorious Stank. It was great breaking into the king size bottle of the splash this morning, which was purchased right before the wife decided to tell me that she hates this scent. Oh well, such is life.
Tabac + coffee= righteous Tuesday morning. Have a great day all

I’m also posting a link to a photo of my two-brush Lego stand. We are not a Lego family, so this was built from pieces I found at my school. Had I found different pieces, it would look different. Either way, it works as a stand. Here

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
Today's shave was excellent more for the experience than for closeness. I purposely dialed in a mild shave because these 3-pass shaves I've been doing need more than 24 hours for my beard to properly fill in. This pushes my shaving time from early morning to mid-afternoon. So, I needed to get back on track.
Nonetheless, this razor has that feeling of inevitability -- it will cut -- and the perfection of the Tabac Trifecta cannot be denied.
Not sure I'm going to keep up with the SOTDs, probably just here and there as whim dictates. But figured I should at least do one with a different brush and soap. Just a quick weekday shave with my bent type L (whatever, the blade sits on the posts) and one of the excellent twin blades from Japan which are a favourite for when fast and easy is in order. Best place I found to get them is direct from Japan via Amazon since the exchange rate is quite favourable lately.
And yes, MWF cracks sometimes, it still works fine though.

This is one of the very first soaps that I bought, and when I started I really struggled with it. Decided to give it a go today and was much more successful with some knowledge. Could probably still stand some more water, but very comfortable shave.
