Isso descartaria uma parte considerável dos benefícios de um frontend como o Invidious. O facto de muitas pessoas usarem a mesma instância anonimiza-as, ao passo que se corresses uma coisa local, serias só tu a usar e o serviço de origem (neste caso o YouTube) conseguiria identificar-te na mesma.
Duvido seriamente, se bem que seria bacano.
Plataformas de vídeo são incrivelmente mais difíceis e caras de correr que fóruns. Algo à escala do YouTube seria impossível, salvo se houvesse uma grande fragmentação das instâncias, a federação funcionasse muito bem e a rede atingisse uma massa crítica para o modelo P2P ajudar com a largura de banda dos servidores. Pode-se ir sonhando :P
