  • That's a very important point. What happens to freshness if we automate everything? Probably, automation takes the freshness out of things.

    Besides that, I believe that tomato-picking cannot ever be fully automated; it's simply to fine-motorically to do mechanically.

    On Mars, as in any city on earth, vegetables should grow as closely to the place of consumption as possible. This ensures fast delivery time and low exposure to travel.
