Visual Vengeance to release Lycan Colony and Vampires and Other Stereotypes

An astoundingly ambitious and riveting example of pure outsider cinema, Lycan Colony's reputation is well earned as every bizzare creative decision unfolds and you are dropped into its metaphysical alternate reality. Lycan Colony now enjoys its first time ever on Blu-ray and is packed with bonus features, including the full Rifftrax version.

  • I try not to editorialise in a threads first post but a fancy pants release of Lycan Colony makes that decision difficult. Now I'll admit I haven't seen it but, rocking a 1.7 on IMDb and no good reviews anywhere ever, I feel safe in skipping this one as there are so many other films out there (and in here with me) to watch. The addition of the Rifftrax version might make it worth a watch but I can't imagine it's got any rewatching potential and adding that (and perhaps the air freshener) is pretty much an acknowledgement that you are almost guaranteed not to enjoy the actual film on its own merits.

Visual Vengeance have done a nice job giving fancy releases to SOV films and I don't regret buying Bloody Muscle Bodybuilder From Hell or The Necro Files (I'll get back to you on Moonchild) but they are also polishing turds. Lycan Colony may be a new low (although Blood of the Chupacabras is only at 1.9 on IMDb so they aren't stooping much lower but that is also because there's not much stopping room left).
