Anyone else missed a massive 14th century monastery behind the Barbican, or is it just me?

  • Seems like a nice place to go sightseeing. I love how London has both 14th century architecture and one of more well known examples of Brutalist architecture just right near to each other like that.

Ikr it makes me think of the Rivers of London books and all the layers of the city’s past on top of each other that you can drop through.

  • That is fascinating - will check it out when next in the area, thanks!

FYI - I could only reply here by changing language to english for the comment, otherwise the eternal rotating circle appears - have seen this bug elsewhere, also.

    • @YellowtoOrange

I’ve got tickets to one of their events, so plan on investigating properly then.

Interesting bug! Although I could make this post easily I can only see it on feddit (from kbin) and can only see replies on my profile. It’s a strange new feddiverse out there.

      • Ah that's the issue - kbin requires users to choose language of comments, so we at lemmy (who don't have such restrictions) can't post unless we choose a comment language, though the main issue is that there is no error message to explain this, so many people will become frustrated that they can't post. Hopefully will be patched soon.
