There’s a fair amount of empty rhetoric in Vance’s speech, of the pot calling the kettle black. It’s not as if this administration is going to break from the previous ones in terms of working to control speech and throw elections.
How do you feel about the Romania cancelled elections, only because a conservative had won? Which the EU did not like.
Ultimately I think the fact that there’s virtually no anti-war left left in Europe (or in the US for that matter) is the worst part of it all, because the far right isn’t, in any principled way, anti-war.
The neoconservative West had the election cancelled on the flimsiest of excuses: another RussiaGate conspiracy theory, because the results were unacceptable.
