The RadioMaster Pocket is a small, lightweight radio that packs a big punch. It is available in two versions, ExpressLRS and MPM CC2500, and both versions come preinstalled with EdgeTX firmware. The Pocket is also equipped with removable stick ends and a foldable antenna, making it easy to transport...
Looking for any thoughts on if the RadioMaster Pocket is good controller for someone who is into this hobby, but not hard-core. Also what are the best goggles recommended on the cheaper side? I know the EV800D are always recommended. Will these last a long time? Is it worth getting something like the Skyzone Cobra X instead for over twice as much?
It's hard to recommend a controller, ergonomics are mostly personal preference. I would assume the target is thumbers, but in Stingerswarm's review he had issues with button placement when using the thumb grip, so who knows.. If you can buy both Pocket and Boxer from a place that allows returns, that would allow you to compare them and return the one that doesn't fit your hands.
On goggles - depends on where you fly, Cobra X has a proper mixing receiver that should work better in high multipath environments, but for flying around a field EV800Ds should be plenty adequate. Cobra X has HDMI input, but I doubt you'll end up using box goggles with external module if you decide to go digital, that seems pretty cumbersome..
I bought into the hobby last year and got the RadioMaster TX12. I wish this one had been available, because I do prefer the video game style ergonomics. But since I wanted ELRS my options were limited.
