Drug abuse + social media, match made in hell.
I'm guessing he was a bigot long before he tried a single drug and certainly long before social media.

While that could be true, they sure cause metastasizing bigotry.
Maybe, but I think in his case, what those things (and his mental illness) do is remove his filter.
When he wasn't open about it, it was still right there, barely beneath the surface.
