A new US team is somehow bad for the brand but slavery, imprisoning rape victims, forced virginity inspections, Capitol punishment for homosexuality are all good qualities in F1's eyes.

At this point, this is a rumiur because VW is in w bad economic situation. Let's wait.
I think it's very real because VW will be kaput in a couple of years. This investment will save the project, possibly also in the future if Audi goes the way of the dodo.
