Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - Grave Fruit II Splash
Fragrance: Southern Witchcrafts - Grave Fruit II
This was my first open blade shave in over a year. I'm honestly surprised I'm not bleeding right now.
All in all it was an awkward shave, but the products worked exactly as they should have. My technique leaves a lot to be desired.
You won’t be disappointed with that brush. Just use it for one month straight. The Stirling 31mm is the same model as the Moar Boar. Once broken in, you won’t want to stop using it. Nice SLS! Enjoying BBS November?
Yeah, I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. It's good practice and gives me a chance to use all this soap I have lying around. :)
I'm very much looking forward to breaking that brush in. It seems to be the largest diameter boar brush offered currently, do you know of any that are larger?
This was a shave test of my Böker 14er that I honed yesterday. The shave result was excellent, but the square point poked me a couple of times. It was the point and could not possibly have been my technique. ;-) That kind of behavior results in the death of pointy points. It will be muted and will speak no more.

Frag: Barrister and Mann - Roam Two EdT
Whenever I use Roam Two, I think it might be my favorite set. The progression from soap -> splash -> frag truly is a journey from sweet grass and juniper berries to earth, tobacco, and leather. It's just lovely all around.
I still have over 50% left of the splash and frag, but I'm already thinking about hunting down some backups.
My shave with the Superinox blade went really well, with no irritation and a super smooth result. Overall just a great start to my Sunday!
Also, I'll plug P2's review of Roam Two from over on w_e for any who haven't read it -- it really should be required reading. :)

I used this two AAs in a row until my wife asked me to cool it with "the lemony one". Such a treat to use.
This is my first time using the tiny Mühle (they call 21mm "medium" for some reason) with the pretty handle and it's a real adjustment coming from bigger, denser knots. This thing has basically no back bone and feels empty. On the other hand, even on this first use, it lathered surprisingly well and had zero badger funk. I'm curious whether I will appreciate this style of brush after a few days of using it, or whether this was just a pricey mistake. Currently leaning mistake, but open to be convinced, since objectively, it didn't make a bad lather at all.
The only badger knot I have that size I now use for talc. I was pretty set on 24mm as my max until I bought my 29mm Thäter. After that and the Wald 27mm I was spoiled.
I know what you mean. My other badgers are 27mm (Zenith), 28mm (dogclaration) and 30mm (Moar Badger) and it's a different story.
I have a 24mm Dec B3 waiting for me at Eldrormr's, and I'm curious about that. I think I would like a small denser knot like a B3 or a Maggards silvertip, but this sparse tiny knot is a not yet acquired taste 😅
