BOM and CSIRO State of the Climate report 2024 predicts more extreme weather as warming increases
Australia has warmed by 1.51 degrees as greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise. The BOM and CSIRO State of the Climate report shows it has fuelled extreme heat events over land and oceans, longer fire seasons and more intense heavy rainfall.
The report has a clear message – the world is sick, it's addicted to fossil fuels and the only way to bring the temperature down is to get off them

Politics mostly happens outside of elections. Support protests or protestors, get involved in local action groups, write to MPs, raise issues at community meetings.
Like yeah vote green but it's a long way before they'll hold enough power to do the necessary reforms. Attempting to shift public and MP perception is good.
This is really to the point: "That's a little bit like telling someone who's got a large drinking habit or smoking habit, 'you need to quit that as soon as possible.'". We know we have the life threatening habit but can’t stop the addiction!
